Biosynthetic Aroma Molecules
Thirty aroma molecules produced by biological synthesis - fermentation and biocatalysis - rather than extracted from a botanical. The same odour molecules, produced without depending on a harvest, a plantation or a CITES quota.
Short answer
30 biosynthetic aroma molecules in three buying tiers - volume molecules that carry enquiry volume, growth molecules with the export premium, and specialty molecules that customers reorder. Every batch is GC/MS screened and ships with a certificate of analysis, a safety data sheet and an IFRA conformity statement. Minimum order from 5 kg, quotes in 3-5 business days.
How to describe these materials. These are biosynthetic aroma raw materials and bio-equivalent scent molecules. They are not natural essential oils and should not be marketed as such. We state the production route on every certificate of analysis so that your own product claims and labels stay accurate in every market you sell into.

Questions buyers ask first
Can I use these in a finished product sold in the EU?
+
Yes, subject to the usual obligations. Nine of the thirty are named fragrance allergens under Annex III of Regulation 1223/2009 and must be declared on the label above 0.001% in leave-on and 0.01% in rinse-off products. Each product page states whether the material is on that list, and the IFRA conformity statement that ships with the lot names the category limit that applies to your product.
How do these differ from the essential oils in your catalogue?
+
An essential oil is a volatile fraction distilled or expressed from a plant. A biosynthetic aroma molecule is a defined chemical entity made by fermentation or biocatalysis. Some of these molecules are also present in essential oils - linalool in ho wood, citral in lemongrass, santalol in sandalwood - but the two are not interchangeable in a claim, in a cost structure or in a supply contract.
Which tier should I start with?
+
If you are buying the highest volume of the most-used materials, start with the volume range. If you are replacing a scarce natural material - sandalwood, ambergris, raspberry ketone - start with the growth range. If you want a material you can add to an existing retail or personal-care line, the specialty range is built around materials that appear across food and personal care alike.
Can I get a sample before ordering?
+
Yes. Request 5-10 ml samples through the samples page, or mention the materials in your quote request. We would rather you evaluate a material in your own formula first than order a drum and reformulate around it.
